Mont Blanc, July 2018

The moment you enter the Col Mont Maudit, you see it: the immaculate white mountain, above it nothing but a deep blue sky with an infinitely wide, green land at your feet … I thought at that moment that I have never seen anything better on the mountain.

To put it more prosaically: on July 7, 2018 at about 3 o’clock in the morning, my guest and I started from the Cosmique hut on the 4810 m high Mont Blanc. What we experienced was simply fantastic: cloudless sky, best snow conditions, pleasant temperatures and, very unusual on this mountain, few summit aspirants. One of my best Mont Blanc tours ever!
