Tour Description

If you already have climbed a mountain around the famous village of Zermatt, you surely caught a sight of the impressive pyramid of the Aletschhorn by looking northward. Is this peak to climb on skins? Not almost, but you will get very near to the highest point, to do climb to the summit by using crampons. However, the skiing mountaineer will be rewarded with an incredible panorama, which ranges all over the Valais until the peaks of Mont Blanc. At the end of these 5 days the unbelievable run from the Beichpass to the Lötschental is waiting.

Today’s summit destination is the Kleine Aletschhorn. After descending via the hut via ferrata, we hike over the Oberaletsch glacier into the valley and finally reach by moderately steep glacier slopes the highest point of the mountain at 3747 m (without having to take off your skis!). About the same way we get over beautiful firn slopes back to the hut. 4-4,5 hours / 1400 m ascent + 200 m ascent to the hut.

4. Tag
A big day today: the Aletschhorn, with its 4193 m the highest point in the surrounding area, becomes climbed over long, partly steep glacier slopes. We reach its summit from the ski depot at about 3730 m in easy to medium climbing by means of crampons. Over infinite slopes with lots of powder- and springsnow we can now draw our traces. Once at the bottom we collect our strength again to overcome the 200 m ascent to the hut. 6-8 hours / 1800 m ascent + 200 m ascent to the hut.

5. Tag
The Breithorn, 3785 m, is today our optional summit (not compulsory). After the impressive descent from its highest point, another ascent leads us to the Beichpass and opens the (Super!) descent into the Lötschental. By bus and train we return to Brig. 5-6 hours / 1800 m ascent (with Breithorn), 2.5-3.5 hours / 900 m ascent (without Breithorn).
