Tour Description

The Monte Rosa Classic, also known colloquially as the “Spaghetti Tour” or “Spaghetti Round” (the name comes from the evening primi in the huts), crosses the Monte Rosa group from the Klein Matterhorn to the Monte Rosa Hut. Your mountain guide will lead you through a fantastic world of glaciers and offer you the opportunity to climb some of the most beautiful Alpine peaks. A special highlight is spending the night on the Capanna Regina Margherita, at 4554 m the highest refuge in the Alps.
Far from everyday life, enjoy the view from the Bernina over the Apennines to Mont Blanc…

Other summit options: Balmhorn, 4215m, and/or Vincentpyramide, 4215m (5-6 hours). Descent to the Mantova hut, 3440m or Gnifetti hut, 3611m in another 1-2 hours.

Day 4
The queen stage of the tour: Our first summit is the striking rock horn Corno Nero, 4321m. We then cross the easy Ludwigshöhe, 4341m, and traverse the impressive “roof ridge” of the Parrotspitze, 4432m. After a rest, we tackle the highest peak, the Zumsteinspitze, 4565m. Optionally, we can also postpone this ascent until the following day. Our last climb takes us to the Signalkuppe (Punta Gnifetti), 4554m. We can take our time on the tour because there is no further descent ahead of us. We plan a total of 6-7 hours to reach our destination, the Margherita Hut, which is right at the top of the summit.

Day 5
The last day of our tour will take us back to Zermatt. If we're lucky, we'll see a beautiful sunrise when we leave the Margherita Hut. The further descent takes us in 3-4 hours over the mighty Grenzgletscher to the Monte Rosa hut SAC, 2798m. A good snack is a successful conclusion (…or the start of the Dufourspitze). This is where our tour officially ends. Of course, your mountain guide will accompany you on the further descent to Rotenboden, 2815m (glacier and marked path, approx. 3 hours). From there we reach Zermatt with the Gonergratbahn.
